This is a tutorial for Stax.ai™ Administrators. If you are not a team admin, contact your administrator to set this up for you.
Stax.ai™ is currently undergoing a detailed security assessment process with Google in order to allow our users to connect their Google accounts without making any changes on their part. In the mean time, you can follow the instruction below:
If you or your organization uses a Gmail or GSuite account, you may need to explicitly enable access for Stax.ai™ bots to check your e-mail periodically. In order for Stax.ai™ to automate your email document workflow, it needs access to your email. In order to do this, you need to explicitly add Stax.ai™ as a verified third-party app in your Google account.
You only need to do this once for your entire organization, and you can connect all emails managed by the organization to Stax.ai™.
Scroll to the bottom to see exactly what Stax.ai™ does with your Google data.
Add Stax.ai™ as a third-party app to your Google account
Sign in to your Google Admin Console: https://admin.google.com.
From the Admin console, either use the menu (3 dashes) on the top-left corner and navigate to Security - API Controls, or click on the Security icon (shield as shown in the image below), and scroll down to the bottom to find App access control and click on it.
Under App access control, click on MANAGE THIRD-PARTY APP ACCESS.
Next to Connected apps, click on the Configure new app dropdown menu. Select OAuth App Name Or Client ID.
In the search field, enter the following app client ID and click on Search.
Client ID: 941349164286-5fl8ip5p3mqg25romcu2kotlumg5i5fo.apps.googleusercontent.com
Stax.ai should show up as a search result. Hover over the Stax.ai option and click on Select on the right side.
Select the OAuth Client ID for the app from the list (should be the only result), and click on the SELECT button on the bottom-right corner.
Click on the checkbox next to Trusted: Can access all Google services, and click on the CONFIGURE button on the bottom-right corner.
And that's it! Your enterprise GSuite account is now configured to connect to Stax.ai™.
Follow the instructions below to connect specific Google email addresses to Stax.ai™.
Connecting your Google mail account to Stax.ai™
Login to Stax.ai™. Click on the user-icon on the top-right corner and select Manage Team Settings.
Click on Inbound Email on the left-side navigation bar.
Next to the Email Accounts header, click on + Add new account.
Click on Gmail / GSuite on the far-left side.
Scroll down to the bottom and click on Connect Google Account.
You will be taken through the Google Authentication Pop-up which asks you to either select an account you're already logged in to, or log in to a Google account. Once you select your account, it will be automatically added to Stax.ai™, and the bots will start bringing your Google email into Stax.ai™ for you!
When you receive a new email with attachments, Stax.ai™ bots (automation software) download the attachments into your Stax.ai™ account. The bots then processes your attachments (extracts text, indexes, sorts, and triages) just like they would process a file you uploaded into Stax.ai™ directly. The attachment and extracted data are stored on Stax.ai™ servers for you to access and search through. Stax.ai™ also stores some meta data for the email such as the sender, and date/time the email was received. Access is granted only to you, and those you share it with.
If you explicitly enable the Auto-Archive functionality in the inbound email setting page, these emails will be moved to a folder called Stax within your Google mail account.
Stax.ai™ never sends emails on your behalf, or sells your data to any third parties.
